I’m a little late! It’s been a busy few days- Kevin and I were both sick, we went to fabulous wedding, and it was my birthday!
I did weigh in and was down 1.4lb! I had a little fever and was pretty exhausted, so I had to slow the activity a little bit. With everything going on, we’ve been living off leftovers, take-out, and wedding and birthday dinners. BUT here are a few recommendations from me this week in place of recipes. 🙂
So… I have to admit that I didn’t invest a lot in workout clothes for a while. I often went for quantity over quality. Earlier this year, a thoughtful fellow Zumba instructor gave me an Athleta gift card as a thank you for co-teaching at a fundraiser. I know I’m late to the party… but I have to admit, if I feel better in what I’m wearing, I’m a better teacher. I’m a better class participant, too. AND… that unstinkable technology is no lie. I can wear the same clothes all day to a few classes, and I’m fine! (I’m pretty sure… because I know that I was NOT fine in old clothes…)
Sparkly Soul. They rock. I love the thin ones because they don’t feel tight, but they stay put and keep the shorter hair out of my eyes.
Halo Top. Dude. I don’t eat the whole pint in one sitting, but knowing that I could and it wouldn’t be the end of the world? Awesome. I highly recommend chocolate (of course) and Birthday Cake. I don’t usually like cake flavored stuff… including cake itself… but it’s yummy! I haven’t been able to find the new flavors near me yet, I’m on the look out for Salted Caramel and Peanut Butter Cup.
Skinny Taste is a great website and resource for healthy recipes. You can look them up by a bunch of different categories (seasonal, diet type, allergies, ingredient). I’ve liked everything I’ve tried so far, but here are two of my favorites-
Podcasts. So. Many. Here are a few.
This is a Thing? – The fabulous Kerri Wilson Ellenberger hosts this fun podcast featuring Boston artists. She’s fun, talented, and easy to talk to. (look for yours truly on episode 2!)
My Dad Wrote a Porno – Yup. Just listen. But with headphones. Here’s the description from the website, because I don’t think I can do this justice:
“Imagine if your Dad wrote a dirty book. Most people would try to ignore it and pretend it had never happened – but not Jamie Morton. Instead, he’s decided to read it to the world in this hilarious comedy podcast. With the help of his friends, James Cooper and BBC Radio 1’s Alice Levine, Jamie reads a chapter a week and discovers more about his father than he ever bargained for.”
Science Vs – They take a look at things like forensic science, fracking, and hypnosis and try to separate fads from fiction.
My last recommendation is these pictures of Winston.
